The Human Rights Council (HRC) was established by the United Nations in March 2006 for the sole purpose of protecting the rights of people throughout the world. Furthermore, it sheds light on major human rights violations taking place around the globe and recommends possible solutions.

This year's Human Rights Council comes to resume its long-standing history as being the foremost forum to address highly controversial yet critical issues in human rights. With topics covering child and minority rights, political and religious freedom, and the infringements of the war on terrorism on human rights around the world, delegates find HRC to be a thought-provoking and dynamic council that allows them to express their opinions and views in a rewarding, non-hostile environment.
